My name is Kim McGinnis. I am a freelance writer and entrepreneur. I have a wonderful family-supportive husband (Mark), funny 15 year old stepson (Danny, 16 march 10, 2009), and we have 2 dogs, Zoey and Rika. We just moved, mid-July 2008, to Erie Colorado (near Boulder). Before that we lived in a cozy house in the beautiful city of Thousand Oaks, California.

I am fortunate to make a living doing what I love to do. I write articles and blogs that are inspirational in nature. My expertise comes from life experience. And although I have had a myriad of challenges and opportunities come my way–there is far more I do not know, than what I know for certain.

What I do know for certain is that what you give you get. It is far more valuable to contribute without expecting anything in return, then to take action and wait for something good to happen. The universe can spot a phony light years away.

Besides being a writer, I am an actress. When I originally came out to Los Angeles in 1981, it was to pursue my acting career. I have done lots of theatre, a few TV and film roles, and some commercials.

My last major stint as an actress was a one-woman show I wrote and performed. I turned down the opportunity to take it further. The show was a very personal and cathartic experience. It helped bring peace to my chaotic past. This experience further sparked the writing bug in me, and also sparked me to go back to college.

For the last 5 years I have been exercising my entrepreneurial muscles, operating multiple businesses. This has added a little yang to my otherwise yin existence. Now that I am living a little bit more balanced life, I have gotten my myself back in the acting world (with the support of my hubby, Mark).

I go out on about half of the auditions that come my way. Since I am juggling businesses, I try to make sure it is a project I am really interested in.

Mark (my business partner, too!) and I are very excited to be the manufacturers of a very cool outdoor lighting effect called Zen Fireflies. This is a product made to simulate real moving fireflies. This venture has come with its own unique set of challenges, but has been tremendously gratifying.

I also run a full-service marketing firm with my husband/partner, Mark. We have multiple online businesses and after moving to Colorado have started to give Seminars. The first Seminar, The Passive Income Bootcamp, is September 20, 2008 at the Hyatt Tech Center in Denver, Colorado. What we will be sharing and teaching (in detail) is how anyone with the desire to have freedom and ability to take action, can create passive streams of income by creating and nurturing online businesses (websites).

Be Like Nature was created because of my deep respect for nature. It is easy to get caught up in the the material world we are forced to live in. But, pressure is relieved when we look around at all the natural beauty that is there for our senses to enjoy. Nature provides lessons in the simple yet effective way it thrives.

My other site, Our Inner Source, has been a labor of love for me and Mark. We created it to to try to share what we have learned – that a fulfilling life is possible with a little faith, the right intention, and support from the universe.

As a lifetime student, I look to the universe in awe. I reflect on how the universe (pure source energy) gives every single moment, humbly, without expecting anything in return.

I wake up everyday feeling supremely fortunate.
